Ealing borough wards map

Ealing wards and constituencies

Ealing contains three parliamentary constituencies:

  • Ealing Central & Acton
  • Ealing North
  • Ealing Southall.

Changes in boundaries at the next General Election (which must be by May 2015) will affect all three, but exactly how depends on the recommendations of the Boundaries Commission which are due in spring 2012 following public consultation on their original proposals.

We will report on the details when they are known. In the meantime, you can find which constituency you are in by entering your post code at the item "Find your local party" on the Liberal Democrats' national web site, http://libdems.org.uk/home.aspx .

There are five Lib Dem councillors on Ealing Borough Council. Their details and those of the main borough party officers are on the Get in Touch page.

  • Cllr Nigel Bakhai at King George's Field in Hanwell
    Article: May 19, 2012
    By Cllr Nigel Bakhai

Attendance figures for the council year 2011-12 once again show that Elthorne Lib Dem Cllr Nigel Bakhai has a 100% record in attending every meeting that he was scheduled to be at.

In all, he attended 33 meetings which is four more meetings in 2011-12 than the previous year when he also had a perfect attendance record. One reason for this increase in the number of meetings is that this year has seen a few extra specially arranged council meetings in August following the riots, and again in May to debate the refuse and recycling problems after the change in council contractor from May Gurney to Enterprise. Furthermore, while Cllr Bakhai served on a crime & community safety scrutiny panel in 2010-11 which met five times, this panel has been disbanded and he is now the Lib Dem representative on the Health and Adult Social Services Standing Scrutiny Panel which meets more frequently.

"I was shocked to see how bad it really is," said Mr Farron. "I knew some of the background, but until you see the actual situation it's impossible to appreciate the true extent of how serious, even dangerous, the position is."
