Strength in numbers - the new Lib Dem London Assembly Team
A big surge in the number of people voting Lib Dem across Ealing yielded Lib Dems their best ever results across London.
The Lib Dems were the only major party to increase their number of seats on the London Assembly and now have five members - one more than last time - following the election of Lib Dem Dee Doocey from Richmond, who becomes the chair of the Economic Development and Planning Committee. This means that Lib Dems will have more influence to keep the Mayor in check.
Across London, the Lib Dems were the only major party to increase their vote share in the European election. Hard-working Lib Dem MEP Sarah Ludford was re-elected and the Lib Dems narrowly missed out on a second MEP.
Local GLA candidate Mike Cox and Mayoral candidate Simon Hughes also saw increases in their support.
