Cllr Gary Malcolm: Wants cleaner and better hospitals
The Commission for Health Improvement has judged Ealing Primary Care Trust (PCT), which provides health services in the borough, to be a zero star trust for the 2003/4 period, while Hammersmith & Fulham PCT only gained a single star.
In Ealing, the Commission found patients are having to wait too long to see a GP, as well as waiting too long for an operation or to be seen in A&E at Ealing Hospital.
Cllr Gary Malcolm says: "People deserve a better service. More money seems to have been wasted on administration, instead of improving the quality of care patients receive from under-resourced doctors and nurses."
Gary added: "Speaking to staff I can see morale is low in the NHS. Doctors and nurses need our support. Liberal Democrats believe that money is better directed towards making hospitals cleaner to combat the spread of infections and recruiting more doctors and nurses to cut waiting times."
