Gary Malcolm Takes Tram Fight on to the National Stage

At the Lib Dem national conference this week (19th-23rd September) in Bournemouth Cllr Gary Malcolm, Parliamentary Spokesperson for Ealing Acton & Shepherds Bush, aired residents' many concerns about the proposed West London Tram during a debate on national transport policy.

This is the latest step in the Lib Dem's campaign to stop Ken Livingstone's unwanted tram.

Gary Malcolm said: "This debate re-affirmed that Lib Dems want to see long-term thinking and local solutions to improve public transport in Acton, in Chiswick and in Hammersmith."

Gary added: "A slavish devotion to hugely expensive schemes will not solve congestion on the Uxbridge Road."
