The demonstration was timed to coincide with a planning site visit where the councillors of the planning committee who will consider the planning application for the scheme shortly.

The proposal to build the depot in a highly residential area will bring 68 buses in and out of the area near Horn Lane as well as the associated noise, pollution and disturbance.

Gary Malcolm said: "I live near the area and the roads cannot cope with the current level of traffic. The extra noise, pollution and disturbance that will be generated are unacceptable. It would be better if Transport for London spent time in finding a suitable location, perhaps in the Park Royal area where residents will not suffer."
