Local Lib Dems give Lib Dem Leader Charles Kennedy MP a warm welcome
Charles Kennedy MP, Lib Dem leader, visited the South Acton estate to speak with the Safer Neighbourhoods police team who are responsible for preventing crime in the South Acton area.
After being welcomed by a crowd of local Liberal Democrat supporters, Charles Kennedy declared his support for community policing and discussed crime issues with the police team who have been active in South Acton reducing crime for a number of months now.
Charles also spoke to Acton residents during the visit and answered questions about his views on crime, anti-social behaviour and law & order issues.
The visit has been organised by Cllr Gary Malcolm who believes that much fear of crime can be dealt with by having community police teams.
Gary Malcolm shows Charles Kennedy South Acton's crime issues
Cllr Gary Malcolm, Lib Dem Ealing, Acton & Shepherds Bush, candidate said: "Many of us fear crime. Lib Dems will reduce crime by scrapping the proposed £3 billion flawed ID Card system and instead having 10,000 more visible bobbies on our streets."
Gary Malcolm added: "Liberal Democrats know from the South Acton estate that visible police both reduce crime levels and lead to more arrests of criminals."
