Francesco with local residents' requests for better lights
As the days are getting shorter, Lib Dems are demanding that the Council prioritise its plans to improve street lighting in Ealing, taking the views of the residents into account.
Response to one of our Focus newsletters identified the following streets in Cleveland ward as needing urgent attention: Cavendish Avenue, Highview Road, Kingsley Avenue, Rosemount Road, Royle Crescent and Rutland Gardens.
Cleveland Liberal Democrats have written to the council, urging it to adjust its schedule for improving street lighting in roads that already have acceptable lighting levels, and instead, first tackle those streets that have such bad lighting that it creates a climate of fear.
Better lighting is key to improving security and giving residents the feeling of well-being, and also encourages more people to walk instead of driving, says Francesco Fruzza, a member of the local Lib Dem FOCUS team.
