Gary Malcolm Says ID Cards No Not Stop Crime

As part of the campaign against ID Cards the Liberal Democrats launched a new website, http://www.libdems.org.uk/noidcards

Labour's case for ID cards is not practical and will be a waste of money according to experts.

Cllr Gary Malcolm said: "The Home Secretary, Mr Clarke, has himself admitted they would not have stopped the awful bombings in London this summer. The Government's record of making large IT projects work on time and on budget hardly inspires confidence either. The sums of money involved would be much better spent on putting more police on the street, where they can stop crime."

If you visit our website http://www.libdems.org.uk/noidcards there is much more detail about the case both we and others are making against Labour's plans. You can also back the campaign by signing our petition on the site.
