Lib Dems Harvey Rose and Jonathan Hulley visiting the renovated Somerset Road garden
Cllr Harvey Rose, Lib Dem Southfield ward councilor, visited a shared garden to see the outcome of a campaign to reverse the way the council had allowed the garden to become decrepit and overgrown.
The location of the site is on the North side of Somerset Road and serves a number of residents. It is only since Harvey Rose got involved that the money was found to renovate the area.
Councillor Rose felt so impassioned that he even got the Council's Chief Executive to visit the road so he could explain the problems that needed fixing.
Harvey Rose said: "When I visited the garden today it looks very nice. You can sit down in tranquility. Before it was so overrun with weeds and sharp thorns. It was a place that residents avoided. It was an eyesore."
