Councillor Gary Malcolm Working With The Police To Take Action On Crime
It was sad to read that the Council is to cut its PCSO numbers by 20 percent.
When they were introduced all political parties in Ealing wanted to see more presence on the streets to reduce different types of crime.
But it is sad that their restructuring is being used as an excuse for a cut to the service they are currently providing. If altering the team structure is such a good idea then they could do that with the current 50 PCSOs. The groups would have twelve or thirteen members.
So it is clear that the current Conservative administration, after losing around two million pounds on the Icelandic banking scandal, are desperate to cut services.
Liberal Democrats believe that any savings made to reduce council tax should not affect front-line services. With these latest police cuts the Conservatives are certainly not doing their up most to protect our borough's residents from crime.
