Resident thanks councillor Gary Malcolm for getting the four broken lights fixed

Your local Southfield Liberal Democrat team managed to get four lights mended on The Avenue recently.

Clare Williamson, resident, had reported the broken lights to the Council 8 weeks before, but to no avail. When Clare contacted Councillor Gary Malcolm he spoke to the Council and the contractor to "get things done".

Then the lights were fixed!

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "It really annoys me when the Council and their contractors let residents down. Having one light out increases the chances of personal crime but four next to each other really adds to the risk."

Local resident Clare Williamson said: "It was completely dark at night. Only the shops near Bedford Corner gave some light. When they shut there was no light. It's the Council job to light our streets. That is what I pay my rates for."
