Southfield Councillor Gary Malcolm at Chiswick Park Tube Station
Councillor Gary Malcolm has exposed another episode where the Conservative party used Council resources including tax-payer's money to promote their own political party.
The recent episode came about when Councillor Malcolm spotted that many Council logos were used on their leaflets without the permission of the Council. When asked, the Council stated no permission has been given to the Tory party.
In a previous episode, letters to Chiswick residents were produced at the tax-payers expense promoting the Conservative Southfield Councillor which was inappropriate and broke the rules. This was stopped when the eagle-eyed Liberal Democrats spotted they had broken the rules.
The logos were produced for the Council and costed time and effort at the very least. To steal them is wrong. Many residents claim that Around Ealing is the Council's fancy magazine to promote the Administration's party (the Conservative party when in opposition said they would get rid of it if they came to power!)
Lib Dem Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "The Liberal Democrats feel the Conservatives' behavior is appalling. They should apologise and make a suitable donation to a local charity. If just me has spotted these rule breaches, then how many others have gone on that we don't know about?"
