Liberal Democrat Andrew Steed has managed to get a long-term fix to a zebra crossing on Southfield Road which was dangerous to residents crossing, cyclists as well as causing problems for the E3 bus.

In the first picture, Andrew Steed and local Councillor Gary Malcolm, you can see that the road surface had cracked and come away badly making it difficult to walk, cycle or drive past. In the second picture you can see Andrew Steed present when the workmen were making the repairs.
After investigation Andrew Steed found out that the Council had made FOUR temporary fixes in the last year or so. Andrew Steed and the Liberal Democrats believed it made more sense to make a proper repair which would last years not weeks or months.

Andrew Steed said: "Liberal Democrats believe that Ealing Council far too often tends to use a sticking plaster approach. After speaking with the workmen it would appear these repairs are likely to be more substantial."
Andrew added: "Liberal Democrats favour proper investment for our roads and pavements as this saves money as future repair costs are reduced significantly."
