Liberal Democrats take part in the local SkyRide event

Councillors Gary Malcolm and Nigel Bakhai joined thousands of fellow cyclists at the recent SkyRide event which took place in Ealing.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "While a small number of local people living in streets around the route may have been affected, overall the event was very well organised and the good weather helped to attract lots of new or occasional cyclists. I certainly hope that it will encourage many of the children and families who came along to take up cycling as a regular part of their travel. It is vital that Ealing Council builds on the success of this event to promote cycling in the borough so that we can reduce the amount of air pollution from engine exhausts and improve people's heath."
Both Cllr Malcolm and Cllr Bakhai completed two laps of the course in around one and a half hours.
