The two derelict buildings on Southfield Recreation Ground have finally been demolished. The work was financed by S106 funds, where the local authority receives money from developers. Liberal Democrat Councillors campaigned to see the buildings, which have not been used for a large number of years, knocked down and grassed over.


Southfield Councillor Andrew Steed commented: "These two buildings were a blot on the landscape, and it is good news they have finally been demolished."
