Lib Dem Councillor Gary Malcolm Attacks Thames Water

Councillor Gary Malcolm, Lib Dem Environment spokesperson, attended a special council meeting to discuss the problems relating to Thames Water. These problems have been on going for a number of years and focus around the High Street, Horn Lane and Church Road in Acton, W3.

At the meeting Cllr Malcolm attacked Thames Water for increasing prices by a large amount, for missing targets for plugging water leaks and not be willing to pay residents compensation for the misery they have caused. When Gary Malcolm demanded compensation to residents they tried to avoid the matter by changing the subject.

Cllr Gary Malcolm said: "Lib Dems say that people in Acton have been treated very badly. Residents who have had to put up with continual leaks, floods or sewage leaks need to be given a great deal of compensation. It is sad that Thames Water cannot say sorry - it is a small word - and then pay compensation to make up for some of the problems they've caused."

Gary added: "Action is needed to solve all of the different problems in the three areas of Acton quickly. Residents shouldn't have had to wait this long."
