Liberal Democrat candidate for the Ealing Southall Nigel Bakhai has called for an end to the political row which has erupted over the future of Hanwell Community Centre, demanding "straight answers" on the renewal of the lease.

Nigel is Chair of the Hanwell Steering Group, an association formed to bring together residents, businesses and community groups concerned with the future of the Hanwell area.

Local Liberal Democrat candidate Nigel Bakhai said:

"Three years ago we fought Labour to save the centre from sale. Now they are accusing the Tories of planning to knock the building down.

"It is time for this rowing to stop - local people deserve to know the truth about the centre's future.

"We need straight answers on the renewal of the lease and a clear strategy for the long term future of the building."
