No Friend to Frendcastle

10.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 16th Jul 2007

Nigel Bakhai and local residents are leading the campaign against the Frendcastle development of Hanwell Lock.

The massive development of over 155 housing units will significantly increase traffic on St Margaret's Road and congestion and parking on nearby streets.

As chair of the Hanwell Steering Group, Nigel Bakhai has campaigned alongside Olde Hanwell Residents' Association against the development for over two years.

It has been labelled as significantly out of character with the area by local people.

Nigel Bakhai says, "The Frendcastle decision is under appeal by the Government Planning Inspectorate. We will keep fighting this proposal until it is thrown out."
