Former Deputy Chair of Ealing Southall Conservatives, Brij-Mohan Gupta, has been unanimously elected as the Chair of the new branch of Ealing Southall Liberal Democrats.

Mr Gupta, who joined the Lib Dems in the Ealing Southall parliamentary by-election, has now been chosen by members to lead the party's campaigning in the area.

London Assembly candidate for Ealing & Hillingdon Nigel Bakhai welcomed the appointment: "Mr. Gupta is very highly regarded in the area and brings a wealth of campaigning experience. He will be a great asset to the Lib Dems and he has my full support."
