Lib Dems call for better consultation for Green Man Lane re-development in West Ealing12.57.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 21st May 2009
Ealing Lib Dems have joined residents in roads surrounding the Green Man Lane Estate in calling for better consultation over plans to redevelop the site. Ealing Council has appointed the developer Rydon Homes to demolish the current Green Man Lane Estate in West Ealing and build over 700 new homes in the next 10 years. The proposals also include knocking down the Singapore Road car park and St.John's Primary school with plans to build a new underground car park and school on the site. Residents have now started a petition at the local corner shop in Felix Road calling for better consultation. Ealing Lib Dem campaigner Dave Randles who lives in Felix Road said: "The Green Man Lane estate badly needs re-development, but people living in surrounding roads are also likely to be hugely affected by the proposals and should also have been consulted before the council went ahead with these plans which will have such a major impact on West Ealing."
